• Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es Pädagoginnen und Pädagogen für die Förderung von Resilienz von armutsbetroffenen Kindern zu sensibilisieren und entsprechende Interventionsstrategien anzubieten.Die empirischen Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Auswirkungen von Kinderarmut und die daraus resultierenden Einschränkungen und Belastungen nicht getrennt voneinander betrachtet werden dürfen, sondern ein mehrdimensionales Phänomen mit multifaktorieller (sozialer, gesundheitlicher, materieller und kultureller) Genese darstellen. Konzepte zur Resilienzförderung können die Teilhabechancen von armutsbetroffenen Kindern positiv beeinflussen. Allerdings, und das bildet ein zentrales Ergebnis dieser Forschung, erfordert die Implementierung von Resilienzförderung auf der Primarstufenebene sowohl individuelle als auch gesellschaftliche und politische Veränderungen.
• The aim of this work is to sensitize educators to the promotion of resilience in children affected by poverty and to provide appropriate intervention strategies. In a theoretical section, topics such as child poverty, educational inequalities, and resilience(-promotion) are examined to subsequently empirically explore this subject. While there have been several publications on this issue in Germany and other EU countries, there is a research gap in Austria. The research question for this master these “Can educators improve the participation opportunities of children in poverty through resilience promotion?” contains concepts of poverty prevention and intervention in the context of resilience promotion by primary school educators in Austria. Using five guideline-based expert interviews, data are collected and subsequently analyzed through qualitative content analysis. The empirical results indicate that the impacts of child poverty, the resulting limitations and burdens should not be considered separately but rather as a multidimensional phenomenon with multifactorial origins. The effects of child poverty can be observed on social, health, material, and cultural levels. Concepts for promoting resilience can positively influence the participation opportunities of children affected by poverty. However, and this constitutes a central finding of this research, the implementation of resilience promotion at the primary school level requires both individual and societal and political changes.
